About Vickids

Learning that starts with your child

Vickids Early Learning is an Australian early childhood education company, based in Victoria. We follow Australia's early learning frameworks, take inspiration from Reggio Emilia, and plan around each child as an individual.

Three blocks, three values

What our logo stands for

Our logo is three toy blocks stacked into a V. Each block stands for something we care about.

Curiosity

Children are capable thinkers with their own questions and theories. We listen, wonder with them, and give their ideas time to grow.

Belonging

Every child should feel known and welcome, along with their family, culture and language. Calm, steady routines help children feel secure enough to explore.

Care

Care for each child's safety and wellbeing, care for one another, and care for the natural world around us.

Our approach

How we think about learning

We see young children as active, capable members of a learning community. Much of what they learn comes through play: building, pretending, making marks, exploring outdoors and talking with friends.

Following Reggio Emilia, we think of the environment as a third teacher. A calm room with natural light, real materials and space to return to an idea invites children to explore and to concentrate.

Educators observe and listen closely, then plan the next step. Families are partners in this, because you know your child best.

One child, one plan

A plan for each child

Children learn in different ways and at different paces. Following the planning cycle in the Early Years Learning Framework, each child's learning plan begins with who they are.

  1. 1

    Getting to know

Your child's interests, routines, culture and language, and what matters to your family.

  2. 2

    Observing

Noticing how your child plays, what they enjoy and what they are working out.

  3. 3

    Planning

A few goals for your child, linked to the five EYLF learning outcomes.

  4. 4

    Learning through play

Experiences shaped around your child's interests.

  5. 5

    Sharing and reviewing

Talking with you about progress, and adjusting the plan as your child grows.

This work is guided by the national Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standard, together with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
